Land Life: A Decade of Nature Restoration and Innovation
It's been ten years since Land Life launched, revolutionizing nature restoration and reforestation with tech-driven solutions! To celebrate, take a trip down memory lane with us and learn about the story behind our excellent numbers.
If you haven't heard about Land Life in the past 10 years, we are a tech-driven reforestation company that plants trees at scale. We help businesses combat climate change while offsetting carbon emissions through nature restoration.
Our mission is big and bold: We aim to restore the 2 billion hectares of degraded land in the world, applying data and technology—such as drones for aerial analysis and monitoring, AI for suitability assessment, and monitoring tools for updated data analysis—to every step of the planting process. By planting trees where needed most, our projects aim to revitalize important ecosystems, improve biodiversity, and create social and economic benefits for local communities. It's impact you can see!
10 million trees planted
Land Life planted 10 million trees in the past 10 years that are currently alive (and thriving!). That's thanks to our rigorous design, planting, and maintenance innovations. We ensure our projects' maximal survival and growth, demonstrating our commitment to long-term resilient sustainability in nature restoration.
11.25k Hectares Restored
Imagine this—Land Life restored 11,250 hectares across the globe, an area that, put together, is larger than the city of Paris or the Disney World Resort in Florida.
14 Countries
There are currently 14 countries with active Land Life projects. This means that projects we have begun are in the process of completing or otherwise monitoring for growth, results, and resilience worldwide.
130+ Projects
We've developed more than 130 projects worldwide since we began this journey 10 years ago. Our end-to-end approach focuses on supporting local communities:
- Stimulating economies through employment
- Training opportunities
- Educational activities for students
- Upskilling for decent, lovable wages and work
75 Experts
Over the past 10 years, we've worked with amazing people in the sector. Currently, we boast over 75 experts in nature restoration with teams in the Netherlands, US, Spain, Australia and Iceland.
2.2 Million Tones of Carbon
The number of tonnes of CO2 to be captured from all of our reforestation projects in the first 40 years of each project. This is equivalent to approximately 3 years non-stop flight time of a Boeing 747.
So… Beyond the numbers, what makes us different?
We restore for resilience: We plan and optimize our projects to combat pests, wildfires, and climate change effects. Our efforts also protect areas from flooding and erosion, ensuring long-term sustainability.
Supporting local communities: Our reforestation efforts boost local economies by creating jobs, providing training, and fostering community development.
Biodiversity at our core:
- We support local wildlife by restoring wildlife corridors and planting diverse species, including fruit trees that attract pollinators.
- We measure biodiversity impact using advanced techniques like e-DNA, ensuring our projects contribute to ecosystem health.
Comprehensive soil and water restoration: Every project aims to improve soil health, protect watersheds from flooding and erosion, and support the production of natural resources.
Scientific and technological i
Innovation: At Land Life, we don't just plant trees. We use cutting-edge technology to monitor tree growth and health in real time, ensuring transparency and continuous improvement.
Our proprietary SIA Dashboard: This platform allows customers, partners, and landowners to easily monitor and track project results, providing data, pictures, and stories from each nature restoration initiative. This enhances transparency and accountability, making you a part of our journey towards a greener future.
By integrating these elements, we ensure that our reforestation projects deliver tangible benefits for the climate, biodiversity, and communities we serve.
