Ecosystem Recovery

Respond to Climate Disruption at Scale

Restore forests impacted by wildfires and pest outbreaks. Catastrophic events have left millions of acres of North American forests degraded. Land Life’s carbon projects target these areas for recovery, transforming crisis into climate opportunity. By investing here, you're helping build ecological resilience while generating high-integrity carbon removal credits.

Many of our projects focus on critical headwater regions — helping to improve water quality and supply reliability for downstream users in agriculture, industry, and cities.

Colorado Initiative

Join a public-private model in Colorado where carbon finance supports public schools

The Colorado State Land Board has approved a landmark public-private program with Land Life to reforest up to 1,000 acres of wildfire-affected state land. Funded through private carbon finance, this first-of-its-kind initiative will generate Verra-certified carbon credits — with a share of revenue directed to Colorado public schools.

Reforesting with native species will restore degraded ecosystems, strengthen watershed health, enhance wildlife habitat, and boost resilience to future climate stressors like wildfire. It’s a powerful model of how high-integrity carbon removal can deliver lasting value for nature, climate, and communities.

Why U.S. Reforestation Matters to Global Supply Chains

The U.S. is a key player in global food and fiber markets — but climate change and land degradation are putting long-term stability at risk.

Nature-based solutions like reforestation are essential to restore ecosystems, protect agricultural productivity, and strengthen the resilience of supply chains that feed and clothe the world.

Why this matters:

+ The U.S. is the world’s largest producer of corn, a critical input in global food, feed, and fuel systems.

+ It’s a top exporter of wheat, dairy, and beef — with supply chains reaching every continent.

States like Colorado play a crucial role in diverse crop and livestock markets, ranking in the top ten for cattle, winter wheat, sheep, wool, alfalfa, potatoes, and fruit. Over $2 billion in agricultural products are exported from Colorado alone each year.

At the same time, North American forests are vital carbon sinks and key to regulating water systems. Restoring them protects both local ecosystems and global supply chain infrastructure.

By investing in high-integrity U.S. reforestation today, companies can secure future carbon removals while building climate resilience where it matters most.

Remove Residual Carbon

How Land Life Manages Your Residual Carbon Removal Projects

At Land Life, our West Coast-based team of ecologists, scientists, and reforestation experts oversees every stage of your carbon removal project—from site selection to planting to facilitating third-party certification.

Their deep regional knowledge is complemented by global expertise from our Amsterdam headquarters, where restoration ecologists and nature-tech innovators provide cutting-edge insights and tools. This integrated approach ensures your North American reforestation project is grounded in local experience and guided by world-class science.

We begin by identifying degraded land with strong potential for long-term carbon sequestration and biodiversity recovery. Our team conducts site-specific carbon modelling, selects appropriate native species, and designs each project to ensure the right trees are planted in the right conditions.

From planting through to ongoing monitoring, we manage on-the-ground implementation in collaboration with trusted local contractors and communities. Finally, we guide your project through independent third-party verification and certification, ensuring it meets the highest standards of integrity and impact.

Invest in Nature

Want to plant trees in North America, but don’t need to invest in certified carbon credits?

Land Life offers nature-positive brands the opportunity to invest in our iconic Mexico Reforestation Project. This large-scale CSR tree planting initiative focuses on restoring essential habitat and migration corridors for the renowned Monarch Butterfly.

Millions of Monarch Butterflies return to this protected area every year (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), making it one of the largest and most important insect migration sites in the world. Since 2017, we've successfully restored 230 hectares, driving significant biodiversity, conservation, and Indigenous community outcomes. Our community-based approach encompasses local planning, seedling production, land preparation, planting, maintenance, and monitoring.
